‘Milenge, Milenge’ wins the number game.. Collects a whooping 7.5Cr in the opening weekend!

Boney kapoor’s Milenge Milenge, directed by Satish kaushik, collected Rs. 7.5Cr nett in its opening weekend, making it a whooping success compared to figures of films like Paathshala & Chance pe Dance, both of which were fresh, timely movies, actively promoted by their lead actor. Trade analysts have already claimed the movie to be a financial success considering that the film is dated and that the lead stars of the movie were unable to promote the film.

The film has fetched total revenue of 15.21 Cr through satellite rights, Home Video, music rights and the overseas circuit. The film which has an investment of around 15-16 crore including print and publicity and is likely to produce revenue of over 21 crore including the Indian Theatrical returns, giving a 30% plus return on investment which is a rarity today.

Milenge Milenge, inspite of all the hurdles, has turned out very well for the producer Boney Kapoor due to good rates today for satellite rights. Even theatrically it may do better today than it would have done earlier as director Satish Kaushik states “Both Shahid & Kareena are bigger stars today and people are willing to pay to see the couple onscreen, maybe for the last time. Also the Shahid Kareena starrer Fida released in 2004 did a Rs. 9 crore nett business and Milenge Milenge is likely to do more than that.
